ORAL HISTORY
This playlist comprises both full-length oral history interviews & edited themed short audio documentaries produced for a 2022 oral history project conducted with the Village of Caledonia, supported through an Artists’ Resilience Initiative grant from the Ohio Arts Council meant to stimulate regional economic relief throughout the early COVID-19 pandemic through community-engaged arts project commissions. The Caledonia Public Square Memories & Futures Project was planned collaboratively through multiple public community meetings; & a final list of 10 narrators was decided on to represent key experiences of public, community, commercial, civic, & fraternal life on Caledonia’s historic Public Square. Narrators detail the history of the Public Square from the 1930s through 2022: almost 100 years of Caledonia history.
