Evergreen Coffee is Caledonia, Ohio’s first micro-roastery! Founded by Jeffrey Nagle & Jess Lamar Reece Holler during the pandemic, Evergreen Coffee is based between Caledonia & Columbus, Ohio, & roasts 2-3 varieties of single-origin coffee per week, available in limited runs, alongside fresh-baked biscuits with jam. Simple but good. We’ll be launching our business along the first-ever Caledonia Farmer’s Market on the Square in downtown Caledonia, Ohio on Saturday, June 5th, 2021! Come out & visit us & help us sell out the market!
Evergreen Coffee has a special relationship to Caledonia: Jess’s grandparents, Barbara & Jack Reece, ran Caledonia’s Reece’s Market grocery store on the Public Square for over sixty-five years; in a sense, Evergreen Coffee is a fourth-generation Public Square vendor! Evergreen Coffee, in partnership with Caledonia Northern Folk Studios, is fundraising to fully rehabilitate Caledonia’s Temple & Masonic Block Buildings … & to build a home for four new local business storefronts: including for a brick & mortar version of Evergreen Coffee! We’re very excited to help bring back the Public Square through a combination of historic preservation, cultural arts, & good old-fashioned small business hustle! We believe in the Public Square’s glory; & are here to help you imagine it, too.
So come on down to Caledonia from 10AM-1PM on Saturday mornings in June & July, & get yourself some coffee & biscuits … and help our vision for bringing a co-operative community coffeeshop to Caledonia’s Public Square grow! We’ll be so excited to meet you!

Jeff Nagle (Evegreen Coffee Roaster-in-Chief; Biscuit Man) is a historian, bicyclist, & educator originally from Silver Spring, Maryland — although he’s mostly also lived in Central Ohio since 2012 — who moonlights as some who is really, really into coffee. After years of dreaming about getting a roaster, Jeff finally started roasting coffee in the pandemic to live out a life-long pipe-dream … and, let’s be real: because nobody else made coffee the way Jeff likes it: fresh, strong, & good! When you’re that picky, you become a roaster! So, after getting sick & tired to stale bags of coffee, Jeff bought himself a micro-roaster … & Evergreen Coffee was born. The coffeeshop quickly became a part of Jess & Jeff’s vision for restoring the magnificent Temple & Masonic Block Buildings in the heart of downtown Caledonia … first, to help fund the buildings’ rehabilitations; & eventually, as a vibrant home for our roaster in the historic community that we love. When he’s not roasting pounds of coffee per week to serve you at the Caledonia Farmer’s Market, Jeff can be found herding Isaly the border collie, biking along the Olentangy Trail, or dreaming about the roadside vista signs on Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula: the inspiration for Evergreen Coffee’s look.

Jess serves on the board of Terradise Nature Center along the mighty Whetstone River just outside of Caledonia, & is an ambient & environmental music DJ on Columbus’s WCRS-LP FM.
